The CFCCA team and board would like to acknowledge JJ Chan’s recent Open Letter and call to engage. CFCCA, and Chinese Arts Centre before it, has always been a platform for instigating important cultural debates. It offers artists, from very diverse backgrounds, opportunities to explore complex issues in relation to China, Taiwan, Hong Kong and the UK.

CFCCA has been planning a process of reflection, reassessment and visioning as part of a continuum in how it operates and who it works with. We remain committed to undertaking this and shall be extending an invitation to those who have been involved with the organisation in the past, as well as those who may wish to be involved in the future, to contribute to this process in order that CFCCA can identify ways in which the organisation can play its role with renewed purpose.

We welcome an open and optimistic conversation and it’s unfortunate that the current conditions, triggered by the spread of Covid-19, may make the discussion feel less immediate.
