aaajiao at CFCCA 2016 by Ben McDonnell

We welcome volunteers to support the development of our archive and library resources, helping our Archivist to carry out research and create records of artworks and artists.

Volunteers will have the opportunity to develop practical experience and knowledge of archives management and develop a good understanding of CFCCA’s legacy as the leading organisation for the research and exhibition of Chinese contemporary art in the UK.

Tasks include creating/expanding index records in the archive database, writing artist biographies, cataloguing publications, digitizing paper records, supporting researchers and visitors to access materials, and providing assistance with engagement activities.

Volunteers will get the most from this experience if they have an interest in contemporary visual arts and are keen to develop their research skills in a professional gallery environment, or pursue a career in the archive and heritage sectors. A methodical approach to work with an eye for detail is definitely useful for this role.

Please note we accept applications to volunteer in the Archive and Library on a rolling basis but places are not always available immediately.
