Artist Residency Talk: Will Pham
Booking for this event is now closed.
Join us on Saturday 16th March to learn more about CFCCA’s residency programme, including our international exchange programmes and in-house residencies.
Will Pham was Artist in Residence at Taipei Artist Village (TAV) in autumn 2018, as part of an annual exchange programme between CFCCA and TAV.
Pham will share his experience on his residency at Taipei Artist Village and his ongoing research into the nature of charity. This follows from his work at the An Viet Foundation, a former Vietnamese refugee community centre in Hackney East London founded by Mr Vu Thanh Khanh MBE. Pham developed new approaches in his practice concerning holistic and personal transformations as methods to address legacies of empire. He will also share his experiences beyond Taiwan to Japan, China, South Korea, Malaysia and Vietnam, as a way to explore the interconnections between local Southeast Asian histories and contemporary politics.
Will Pham (b.1990, London) is artist working in socially engaged practice. He graduated from BA Fine Art at Chelsea College of Art & Design in 2013 and Postgraduate Fine Art at the Royal Academy Schools in 2018.
